Safety Basics & Precautions
For most people, red light therapy is gentle and well-tolerated. The best approach is to start low, keep sessions comfortable, and build consistency over time.
Practical safety guidelines
- Start gently. Begin with a lower intensity and shorter sessions, then increase gradually as your comfort grows.
- Avoid staring at LEDs. Don’t look directly into the lights. If you’re treating near the face, consider closing your eyes or using eye protection.
- Keep skin comfortable. Gentle warmth is normal. If it feels too warm or intense, lower intensity or shorten the session.
- Don’t use over irritated skin. Avoid use over open wounds or actively irritated areas unless advised by a professional.
- Keep the product dry. Use only in a dry environment and follow the care instructions.
Use the timer. Set your session time so it stays consistent and worry-free.
What you might notice
- A subtle feeling of warmth
- Mild temporary redness in some people (usually fades quickly)
If anything feels uncomfortable, reduce intensity/time and reach out to support.

Who Should Avoid / Consult a Professional
If you’re unsure whether red light therapy is right for you, it’s always reasonable to check with a healthcare professional - especially if you have a medical condition or take medications that affect light sensitivity.
We recommend consulting a professional first if you:
- Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
- Have a known light sensitivity condition
- Take photosensitizing medications (some antibiotics, acne medications, or other prescriptions can increase sensitivity to light)
- Have a significant medical condition where guidance is important (for example, conditions affecting skin, eyes, or circulation)
- Have concerns about using light-based wellness tools around a specific condition or treatment plan
If you’re simply cautious (totally normal)
Start with:
- lower intensity
- shorter sessions
- a comfortable routine that feels gentle
If you tell us your goal (sleep, recovery, mobility, stress), we can suggest a simple starting routine - but we can’t provide medical advice.
